Who’s PaperMap?

Richie Akers is the Founder and Principal Well-Being Architect of PaperMap Creative, the proud “boutique agency” that builds real programs to advance care team well-being. With a background that bridges marketing, storytelling, and healthcare innovation, Richie helps organizations design measurable, human-centered frameworks that make well-being a lasting part of the workplace.

Before founding PaperMap, Richie participated in national well-being efforts within AdventHealth and The Coalition for Physician & APP Well-Being, shaping programs, summits, and recognition systems that strengthened the culture of care across health systems. Earlier in his career, he worked in the wind energy sector, leading health and safety initiatives while designing corporate training programs that combined technical precision with creative engagement, drawing on his professional experience in the performing arts to make stories meaningful and engaging.

A Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP) with foundational training as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Richie blends evidence-based design with creative clarity, turning complex challenges into clear maps, waypoints, and proof that change is possible. Rooted in the belief that every team deserves to feel the journey, he guides leaders toward sustainable, measurable results where well-being is not just encouraged but architected into the everyday experience of care.
